Martley Hall Stud Arenas Now Resuming Through the Second Lockdown

Well as usual the government guidance is as clear as mud…… but there has been a U-turn!

The good news is we are permitted to be open during this lockdown.   “Riding for the purpose of exercise” is listed for one of the permitted reasons for travelling.

Stables and riding centres had been listed as facilities that should close, in the original government guidance last Sunday, but after the vote in parliament on Monday 4th November on the new restrictions, clarification has been given by the Government’s Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS), Defra and Sport England, which has removed that from the restriction list.

Unfortunately, affiliated dressage competitions will be on hold. British Dressage says in their latest update:

We can confirm that all organised British Dressage training and competition activity is now suspended in England for the duration of the four week lockdown period until Thursday 3 December, when we hope that activity will be able to resume.

We will be resuming with the majority of our November timetable providing the sessions are able to adhere to the latest revised COVID-19 protocols.

  • 1-2-1 training & lessons can continue
  • You can train/ride with one other person form your household or from your support bubble or from another household
  • Social distancing must be maintained
  • All riders must sign new protocol forms – sorry!
  • Payment for sessions must be made in advance or by contactless payment

Please be considerate to others around you;  social distancing where possible, wearing face coverings when inside the arena building for use of the washrooms, wash your hands thoroughly on arrival and departure from the venue and apply hand sanitizer (provided).

If you have any cold or flu like symptoms, a dry persistent cough, a fever or loss of taste or smell, please do not come to Martley Hall Stud.

In the meantime, keep an eye on our Events & Booking pages and our Facebook page for regular updates on our latest schedule as I’m sure the Government’s advice will continue to change.

Stay Safe & Take Care.

We look forward to seeing you soon.
