Boarding Mares
Martley Hall Stud take boarding mares on both short and long term residential basis for breeding and foaling. We are a small yard so can accommodate the individual routines and needs of each mare in our care, either stabled or living out. All necessary veterinary work is carried out by vets from Ryder-Davies and Partners who are experienced in breeding and stud work. 24-hour care for the mares is provided by our on-site team who are highly experienced in breeding & foaling. We have four large foaling boxes, all equipped with CCTV to enable us to monitor your mare closely prior to foaling and without intrusion.
Martley Hall Stud offers a walking-in service for visiting mares to all the major Stallion Studs in the Newmarket area.

A I Programme
At Martley Hall Stud we take mares with or without foal at foot on long- or short term livery for artificial insemination (A I) with fresh, chilled or frozen semen from the stallion of your choice. (Frozen semen can be stored on site.)
All veterinary work is carried out by vets from Ryder-Davies and Partners who are experienced in breeding and stud work. 24-hour care for the mares is provided by our on-site team who are highly experienced in breeding services. Any necessary arrangements with the stallion’s owner or agent can be made whether it is in the UK or abroad.

An inclusive per-cycle package price is offered for veterinary fees as follows:
- Chilled semen: £402.80 for the first cycle and £281.30 on subsequent cycles
- Frozen semen: £481.45 for the first cycle and £361.10 on subsequent cycles
All prices are exclusive of VAT
- All ultrasound examinations
- Endometrial swabs if required
- Insemination routine drugs e.g. oxytocin and ovulation agents (Ovuplant or Deslorelin)
- Single post-insemination uterine flush
- Caslicks if required
- Pregnancy examination at 16 days
- Twin reduction
- Investigation of fertility problems
- Any laboratory fees
- Regumate if required or other drugs to aid pregnancy maintenance e.g. systemic antibiotics
- Treatment of persistent endometritis
- Subsequent pregnancy exams after 16 days
- Any other veterinary treatment for illness or injury including visit charges
- Sedation or spasmolytic drugs if required to examine the mare
Youngstock
(Weanlings & Yearlings)
With well managed and nutrient rich grassland our 200 acres of post and rail paddocks offer year-round boarding for both mares and youngsters. Boarding mares and youngstock live out in small groups throughout the Spring, Summer and Autumn and are wintered in comfortable large brick built stabling when required or requested. All weanlings and yearlings are regularly monitored by vets from Ryder-Davies and Partners to oversee their growth and development.
